I have a new Sceptre 55" LED TV 2160p 4K, unlike my older 50" LCD TV, it has no VGA port, so when I looked online it says in order to use a big screen TV as a computer monitor the easiest way is to get a VGA to HDMI adapter, so I bought a plain one first, without the little square converter on it, it didn't work, when I searched why on Google it said I need the VGA to HDMI with the converter built in, so that's what I ordered, but when I hooked the VGA side to my PC and the HDMI part to my TV, nothing happened again,it says "no connection" or something like that. Now I know the HDMI port works on my TV because I tested it, I tested all (4) HDMI ports and also tried all others as well, like, MEDIA,YMPR? RCA etc, none work with this adapter, I searched Google and cannot find any answers, my old Sceotre 50" TV had a VGA port, so I just used my Desk Top PC VGA into the TV VGA and wham, it worked, no problem, but the new Sceptre TV does not have a VGA port, and I tried (3) different types of HDMI adapters,VGA. USB etc and none worked. What am I missing or doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You Very Much.

The converter you have bought is probably HDMI to VGA, not VGA to hdmi.
Converts the signal in the opposite direction.
What is your GPU on your PC ? Maybe if it has DVI, you may get a DVI to HDMI connector, since most of the time DVI is a digital output.
Make a pic of your PC gpu outputs.

Edit: just saw you are having a 4k TV, so definitely say correct model of GPU, since not every output can dish out 4k, you may need to change the GPU if no outputs support 4k.
