Why wont my xbox connect through a modem

i dont have a router but i have a modem but the x box wont connect directlyany answeres and dont put them in a geek code or whtever just gi me straight

Your thingie is not configured with the doohikie because of a conflict with the other stuff.

If you really want a way to check this you'll have to put up some some technical terms.

Have you gone though the network setup on the XBOX? What does that show you?
