[SOLVED] Why would anyone overclock a i9-9900k?

The i9-9900k currently is the fastest gaming CPU in the world and ANY video card is going to bottleneck it. Even the RTX 2080 Ti is a bottleneck for this CPU. So, why overclock the CPU?

Graphics cards cant really bottleneck processors.
Yes they can be the limiting factor, but they are not slowing down the processor.
This is not a bottleneck.

A bottleneck is the other way around, when the graphics card has to sit idle waiting for data to be fed to it.

On the topic, why do people do anything? Why push OCs with LN2, why buy top of the line hardware when theres something better next year, why buy fancy lights for a PC that do nothing?
People like to. Thats it.

Additionally, gaming is not the only use for a processor.

For gaming maybe but for other tasks that extra speed is worth it
