All I need to know, is I don't need Wi-Fi 7.
Yep, as I only use wireless from phones and tablets, I don't need any of these new speeds or "features" either.

To be fair, WiFi has come a long way since 802.11a and speeds and latency are getting somewhat reasonable and some people just can't run cables everywhere where it is needed.

I'll do what it takes to get my Desktops/Laptops on the wire, high resolution remote desktops with multiple screens require high bandwidth and extremely low latency. 10gbe or bust!

I have this router (netgear rs700) and I spent 10 hours with it last night, port forwarding doesnt even work LOL and they acknowledge it, and address reservation is buggy. I dont use many features on routers besides these two and they are both broken. They said they will have a fix soon :\ I was going to try asus for the first time, but their reviews are bad too.

Disappointing. Decreased latency would be nice, but who actually needs all that bandwidth and throughput? Several phones, a few tablets, and a couple laptops in the household, and we never come close to saturating our 1Gbps fiber connection on Wi-Fi 6e.

All I need in new Wi-Fi tech is better signal. My house is made of bricks, including the interior. My router is in the center on the ceiling. If I move 20' away from the router, I lose 5 and 6Ghz connection, and 2.4Ghz is barely usable. I should give mesh a try, but I still have a bad taste from older wireless repeaters.

My first gen Google Mesh three puck setup changed my hatred of repeaters. Plug and play, no messing with settings, it just works. Plenty of coverage for my entire home, I currently have 30 devices on my network and no issues ever.

It sounds like you probably want to learn about backhauling your Access Points!

a mesh system and repeaters are to completely different things. a mesh system, acts as one big access point, with one log in, and as you walk around, you switch access points pretty seamlessly, where a repeater, i think each access point, has its own log in...

I was skeptical of mesh systems too, but then I but the bullet and got the first gen Google wifi and it's been smooth sailing since.

Wifi connection is not only for internet access , it is a full network as well.
