Wi-Fi adapter makes my PC Crash?

So, I've had this issue for several months now, and have tried multiple solutions without success. The problem is also getting worse on my desktop gaming computer, and two PC professionals have been stumped on how to fix this. So I'm really hoping that someone here might be able to detect the root of this issue.

Wi-Fi adapters appear to make my PC crash. When this issue first started occurring, I was using Windows 7 and a Linksys AE2500Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter. There was only one version of that adapter's driver, and it was released in 2011. It was odd, because no other USB devices make my PC start to mess up. My mouse, keyboard, USB drives to store files, and etc all work perfectly fine and functionally. But my Wi-Fi adapter, no matter where it was plugged in, would eventually stop working. My computer would claim that I didn't have any adapter plugged in. If I unplugged and re-plugged the adapter, it wouldn't fix the problem. Then, whenever I would try to restart my computer, I would get the blue screen of death upon restart. Also, if I tried to hold down my power button, the computer would immediately turn back on the moment I let go of holding down the button. It didn't do this every time I tried using my adapter, but this was an issue that would occur a few times a week. The PC would only crash/do these things after the Wi-Fi adapter started messing up.

I sent it to a repair shop then, to see what the problem is. They reported back that they thought my USB drivers were screwed up, so they reinstalled them. But that didn't fix the problem. In fact, after a few months, this issue screwed up my Windows 7 key and my PC suddenly thought that my W7 was a counterfeit.

Upon a close friend of mine who works in professional PC repair tech, I spent the money to upgrade to Windows 8, reformatting my entire PC in the process, and bought a new Wi-Fi adapter. A Sabrent AC600 Dual Band Wi-Fi USB Adapter, that came with it's own disk for installing it's driver. I reinstalled all of the drivers on my PC -- a new USB driver, LAN driver, chipset drivers for my Motherboard, etc -- and installed the driver for this new Wi-Fi adapter. But the problem is still persisting, and even worse, since my computer keeps detecting and then un-detecting my Wi-Fi adapter.

Again, this issue is only when it comes to my PC trying to connect to these two different Wi-Fi adapters. No other devices that require USB ports have had any issues whatsoever, or else I'd suspect that it was a hard drive issue. (That plus the two PC experts both said that they didn't think it was a hard drive issue?) I've tried re-arranging where my USB devices are plugged in; I'll plug my mouse into a USB socket where the Wi-Fi adapter was plugged in, and plug the Wi-Fi adapter in where my keyboard was, etc. But everything will still work fine except for the adapter. Then, my computer will crash upon restart or restart when I try holding down the power button.

I've so far only found one thread where people had problems similar to mine. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/266052-28-windows-crashes-wifi-stick-inserted But none of those solutions worked for me, unfortunately.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? And how I could fix it? I'm starting to be at a loss here.

Same problem, on both my PCs.
NIC card isn't the problem.
Possibly driver issues, (2) of same model usb WiFi adapter, net gear 6100 5g. Works exceptionally, other than random crashes. Usually at right after logging into Windows. "System service exception" error I think it's called. Happens randomly, maybe 10 times a month.
Updated drivers, everything up to date, removed and used older drivers, still a problem.
With this particular usb, need to remove usb, log into Windows, then insert.
