Anyone have any interesting 802.11b anecdotes? Have you heard of anyone setting up an outrageously complex Wi-Fi network of the entire neighbourhood for example? What is the most complex hybrid network stories you've ever heard of?

I have some pretty weird looking coffee can antanae sending wireless to my sons home and my brother-in-laws home. We are 200yds to my sons home and 300yds to brother-in-laws home. We have 6 computers connected on our network.

I aint signing nothing!!!

ive considered splitting the cost of my internet with the neighbors via cat5. but the more i thought about it the more i figured it was a bad idea. one, i would have to support them, two, they would likely steal my bandwidth at the worst time. three, they would do stupid things like leaving file sharing apps open all the time. i just didnt think it was worth the headache.

how do you shoot the devil in the back? what happens if you miss? -verbal

get a router that supports bandwidth limitations per port, or set up an old 486 as a gateway server
