Hello, so I have recently bought a new wifi adapter for my dads PC I tested it on my PC and it worked fine. However when I plugged it into my dads PC our home network didn't show up or rather it did but It showed up as a Hidden network and when I tried to connect to it, it said "couldn't connect to this network". I have tried everything to get this thing working I reset windows, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers etc.. nothing has worked. Does anyone have any idea what this could be and how to fix it?

Dads PC specs:

i7-2600
P8H61 mobo
GTX 1050
16GB drr3 1333
500GB Seagate Hard Drive

The default setting for Wi-Fi in Windows 10 is for "power saving" which severely limits the range that the computer can be from the router. Look here:
Start->Windows System->Control Panel->Power Options->Change Plan Settings->Change Advanced Power Settings->Wireless Adapter Settings->Power Saving Mode. There change the settings to "Maximum Performance".
Now wasn't that clever of Microsoft to hide that setting like that! 🙁
Ok so that didn't work but i found the fix! My wifi adapter was on channel 1-11 while the 2.4ghz channel on my router was on channel 13 so I switched my Wi-Fi adapter to channels 1-13 and its working!

Thanks for the reply I am busy at the moment but I will definitely give that a try when I am free to.
