I have a Belkin wireless in the house,I can pick up a signal outside about 30' away,I want to pick-up a signal 100 feet away in my studio.Do I need a Wi-Fi Extender or repeater or antenna?and what all parts would I need. All I need is internet access and maybe look a a you tube video. It a clear shot to the studio,no trees or anything.using a Ipad or laptop.

Basically Yagi antenna comes in both forms. You can hook it to laptop to receive signals from farther distance (usually in KMs) and also to the wifi router to increase it's range. Since you only require to increase upto 100ft you don't need to waste money on this. A 9 dbi wifi router antenna will be best for you.

Try placing your router in more open area.

An extender or repeater is the same essential thing. You would need a device with a higher power or a directional antenna to send the signal that way. You also might consider running and outdoor or weatherproof data cable there. Is there a direct line of sight to your studio? Or are there walls, lots of trees, other objects in the way?

The studio is across the driveway,I can see it from my window, and I can pick-up a signal outside next to the studio,I can pick-up, one-two bars inside, but I have to connect from outside to get the signal.Would a directional antenna cause problems with my signal in my house?
