Wi-fi only works under load only for my PC

Hello! And thank you for coming here to help me! I have had this issue for quite some time, it goes away and comes back, however, I really want a permanent solution. My wifi (only on my PC, my phone is somehow unaffected) only seemingly works when I am on Skype (the only 100% sure thing that allows it to work). I like to put it in terms of a floodgate, when I'm transmitting data constantly over Skype, the floodgate is open. When I'm not transmitting data constantly, however, it slows to a trickle and it frequently disconnects and reconnects. I've tried uninstalling my wi-fi adapter, that works for about 8 minutes, then the issues continue. Please, please, please help!

How long internet cable you have from the wall? There may be a data loos if the cable is longer than 2 m.
If this is not the case I thing that the best thing to do Is to contact your internet provider about that problem.

Have you updated the drivers for your adapter?

I installed drivers idk if they are helping I'll be back in a bit. I'm using an Qualcomm Atheros AR9287 chip in a TP link adapter in Win 10
