Wi-Fi speeds and uses

Does anybody cares about wifi speed when choosing a mobo? Can anybody use wifi to connect when downloading drivers for a pc or anything like that? What's the benefit of wifi in case if I am using just an Ethernet cable during gaming or benchmarking?

If an ethernet cable is available and the PC is a desktop (not laptop or tablet) then there is NO benefit in WIFI.

That's why the majority of desktop motherboards don't have WiFi included.
An ethernet cable trumps any WiFi.

A stationary system with a Cat5e cable has no use for WiFi.
