Hello guys,
So i just bought a usb wi-fi adapter for my dektop but i'm having a speed problem.

When i run the test, it only shows a speed of hardly 15mb/s, on the other hand, at the same home location, my laptop gets a 26mb/s speed during tests

For info,The speed for wired connections is 30mb/s

can this be due to the usb adapter on the dektop?

The router is the Netgear WNR2200
The usb adapter on dektop is the netgear A6100
The laptop is a MacBook Pro

would a pci-e wi-fi adapter with external antennas be a better option for the desktop?
Wiring will be dificult as ti would need +-20m of cable around my appartment...

Thanks for any help.

Solution
15mbps is pretty good if your wired speed is 30mbps.

You'll never have a perfect wireless speed, unless perhaps your computer is right next to the router. Any obstacles will add up to lower the speed.

I'm aware that it's not that bad, but it just bugs me how being in the same place, both connected through wi-fi, one gets "only" 15mb/s :kaola: while the other gets 26mb/s 😍. Probably it's just a question of brands and the laptop probably have a better wi-fi adapter:??:, but knowing i could be enjoying a 25mb/s connection instead of 15mb/s bothers me... 😉
