Your GTX 970 will produce more than 60 FPS in most games at max graphics settings, and the Asus monitor perfectly compliments that, as it is 144hz. That means that you can see up to (REAL) 144 FPS using that display. :)

I'm guessing your GTX 970 already maxes out most things at 1080p 60Hz (i know mine does). definitely go with the better monitor, maybe even one better than that like 1440p 144Hz. that way when you do get the chance for a new upgrade, the second gpu will make more sense and actually bring a performance gain
