Wich is even or better than a r9 290?

Hii, i'm wondering wich nvidia cards are even or better than the r9 290. I'm using AMD right now. But thinking of a change. What card Would you advice in the price range of 250€ to 400€

The rest of my build is:
Intel I5 4690
Asus h97 plus
600w psu

Whatever is out there right now, isn't that much better to be worth the investment, unless you REALLY have too much money.

Try looking at the ASUS GTX 970 Strix.
Not sure exactly how much it would be in euros- should be in your price range though.

This pretty much, the jump from a r9 290 to a gtx 970 will hardly be noticable. Also, there is the issue of the 3.5gb + 500mb vram with the 970. And your PSU isn't nearly enough to crossfire a second 290. If you can save another 100 euro, the 980 is great, but for this budget you might as well stay with your current build.

If I had a R9 290 I should 100% wait because AMD is coming soon with there NEW GPU`S 😀
The R9 290 is a great card and there are NOT many cards that are alot faster.
The Gtx 970 is also a great card BUT is only a LITTLE bit faster.

So I would wait til AMD coms with there new cards and that is gonna be in the next 3 months 😀

PS: I don`t know what type of screen you have but if you have a high-end card...you also must have a 144hz screen.
There are ALOT of great 144hz screens in your price range.

There also appears to be a confusion when it comes to benchmarks with those cards, I've got R9 280X, which is only a little bit slower than R9 290, which is only just barely slower than gtx 970; But on the other hand, the Gtx 970 is a shitload faster ( more than 50%, according to benchmarks) than R9 280X. What's up with that?
