I have a aleinwarea area 51 alx bought it in 2010 I like to change the mother board from a 1366 to 2011-3 8 core
im worried about my lights and the fins to work cant find anything on line pls

Solution
It's actually a good thing you clarified since I am now unsure of which model you have. My original research showed a full ATX system but Dell is showing a Mini-ITX in their information (you couldn't get the corner of an ATX board into a mini-ITX case). Can you post an image of the back or link to the exact model's picture. I'm getting conflicting information from every page I visit.

Solution
i would be careful with changing motherboard. definitely research it. some alienware use a completely different power supply pin out order on the 20+4 pins and you will completely fry a 'normal' motherboard if it is. also i would imagine most alienware is a micro atx if not itx sized motherboard.
