Hi all,

title states the obvious 😛

so wich one should i get?

i'm aiming for a 120gig one for the OS and the games i play most.

if you guys could help me decide and i would like it to come from http://www.alternate.be since they provided my with excellent service so far.

Right off the bat I would have to say the Intel® SSD 320 120GB as it is hard to beat the reliability of the Intel SSD's. They do carry this drive and the part # is SSDSA2CW120G3K5

Samsung is good, so is intel. Try crucial or plextor, it got good reviews on Newegg.

tell us more about your system - i have an x58 mobo with sata III ports yet they were implemented with a Marvell controller that is crap. More info == better answers.
I'm on my 3rd year with my Inel 320 - never had a problem. If I were to choose now I think it would be Samsung 830.

The intel 520 for sale at 200 euro is the fastest drive you will find.
The intel 320 for sale at 169.99 is too expensive. Wait for a sale but this is a 'good' drive and I own the 160gb version myself.

The c128m4 is good too but seems over priced.

The Adata s510 models at the top are good too. Good prices. They use the same sandforce 2281 as the intel 520 and can be similarily quick.

I like the samsung 830 drives, theoretically, although I've never had one in my hand. 200 euro seems acceptable.. same as the intel 520.

Me, I would buy the intel 520 if money was no option. Otherwise I would buy an adata but ensure it encorporates the sandforce 2281 (sata III or sata 6gb) and synchronous nand (not asynchronous nand).

the h100 is just something i wanted

and although i heard the non-k version cant be overclocked, it acutally is...not extremely...but possible

mine is running @ 4Ghz (prime95)


I wish to travel to Canada once in my lifetime 😛

Yes you can slightly OC the non-k SB CPUs. But to do this you have to (as you did) raise the Bus Speed from 100->103. While this does work it is not really recommended as the Bus speed affects more than the CPU, primarily the pci-e and that is where problems may show up. Besides a jump of less than 10 percent for the CPU is not even noticeable outside of benchmarks.

As too which one to get. I have a pair of 128 gig Curcial M4's in my I5-2410m SB notebook, A 128 gig Samsung 830 as the OS + program drive in my I5-2500k (the Samsung replaced the 120 gig Agility III - still have an 120 gig agillity III as a "scratch drive). In day-to-day usage I see no diff between the M4 and the 830.

My vote - If all are the same price ($$$/Gig), then Intel -> 830 -> M4. If a price diff, then the cheaper on.
Reliability (and LEAST user problems) Intel and Samsung 830 very close followed by M4.
As to real life performance, will not see a difference.
As far as that goes the Intel 320 and Samsung 430 which are a SATA II drive are both VERY reliable and as to day-to-day usage only a small performance hit - may be more cost effect when looking at $$$$/Gig/performance.

I have a total of 10 SSDs - 7 different brands. Oldest one is an Intel G1, The ONLY problem I had was a compatability problem with the Agility III.

With your system overclocking would not be necessary as it is great already!

As reitred chief says. First choice intel 520, then 830, then m4.. I agree completely. However, you can wait a week or two for a sale on whichever you like. The ssd on your system will make a HUGE difference. I'm excited for you.
