I was planning on buying a Dell 2001FP when Dell started offering those ridiculous coupons for it, but I missed them apparently. Someone told me that the wide monitors (like the Dell 2005FPW) are better for your eyes and just an entirely better experience. Can anyone speak to this?

I used the 2005fpw for about a month before I gave it to my brother and got the 2405fpw.

It took a few days to get used to widescreen. Now it's weird to use anything else. I personally would really recommend a WS monitor. Windows Longhorn (their next OS) will be designed for widescreen monitors apparently, most games support WS and if they don't you can make them support it, having a lot of room on your taskbar is very handy, using the internet with 2 browser windows side by side is nice, multitasking is simple, etc etc.

If you're looking for deals check out anandtech.com's forums, as well as bensbargains.net

I've seen the 2005fpw as low as about $479, and I got my 2405fpw for $860.
