Ok, I'm looking at some widescreen monitors for my next system, but can't decide on one that I like the look of and also performs well for gaming. Something that's also a bit of a personal preference, I'm trying to build an all black system (purely for aesthetics). At the momemt, I'm looking at:
20.1" Dell E207WFP
Viewsonic VX2235wm
I'm also considering the possbility of using a standard 19" monitor. I prefer the look of the Dell monitor, but I've heard bad reviews about ghosting with it. Does anyone on here know how this monitor performs? Also, what do people reckon about Asus monitors?

If my friend's 19" dells are any clue to how the rest of the dell lineup is, then stay away! His ghost when playing CS and the color seems a little off too.

That Viewsonic 2035 is a surefire winner.

You could take a look at the vx922, it's black and silver?

A lil accent color won't kill you.

To be honest, I don't think there are any all black monitors with decent specs. I'll definately avoid the Dell then. On the Viewsonic front, I've just realised that the VX2235 I was looking at is 22", but has the same resolution as 20" VX2025. So what do you reckon; 20" VX2025 or 19" VX922?

I have dual vx922s if that says anything.

I would have gotten a vx2025 for my second one, but oh well. If gaming is paramount I would go with the vx922. If it plays second fiddle to color or watching movies, then the 2025 is a safe bet. I love my vx922s and they are satisfactory for video/movie watching, but I'll throw full length movies on to my LCD TV rather than watch them because of the viewing angles and blacks/whites.

Only problem with the ViewSonic's is that they're quiet expensive. I've heard good things about LG monitors, so I'm considering this:
LG 19" widescreen
On the standard 19" side, I'm wondering what this Sony is like for value for money:
Sony 19"
The LG looks quite nice with the high contrast ratio.

I have had an ASUS MW221U 22" for the past week and love it. Its in nvidia dual-view mode with a Samsung SM-920N 19" monitor- and it blows the 19" away in games (which you'd expect given the 6ms difference in spec).

Out of the box, the colour is a bit larey (arent they all?), but having played with Nokias calibration product for the past week and toned the blues & greens down a little- the finished view is superb.

And yes, the bezel is as nice as it looks :)

I'm planning on buying a pair of those viewsonics you mentioned. I have a VX924 now, which is exactly the same as the 922, except, mine is a ms slower, 3 instead of 2, i can honestly say its an ace monitor you wont go wrong with it.

The 22" viewsonic you mentioned, is actually a full 100 quid cheaper in taiwan than it is in the uk...

Everything in the UK is more expensive than pretty much anywhere else. It's so annoying. I'm going to wait for DX10 graphics cards to become affordable before I upgrade now, so I'll see if I can afford a better monitor then.
