hi.
the question that comes here is
for a normal user which type of monitor suit better
widesrceen or normal??
advantages,disadvantage on each monitor.
are all graphics cards supporting wide sreen monitors?
is there any software of way to test compatibility?

Hard to say what "normal" is.... does that mean "other than gamer"? or "other than those with professional interest in color or CAD/CAM"?

The only *real* advantage to widescreen is greater horizontal resolution... good for spreadsheets and maybe some net surfing so you wouldn't have to use the horizontal scroll bar as much. And of course, many gamers appreciate a more panoramic view of the action... But, vertical resolution is sacrificed until UXGA parameters.

The disadvantage to widescreen is uncertainty about how pixel mapping and rescaling will be applied. It's not universal.

Not all graphic cards support widescreen.... especially older cards, but virtually all newer ones do.

Widescreen is still relatively new. In time, most of the issues will get ironed out.

yah, widescreen is better. makes the most difference not in games but in work - u can have 2 windows side-by-side.. no need 4 alt-tab back n forth

also good with web pages where the f***ing webmasters mess up and you can scroll sideways 4eva cuz the whole page is on one line

support for widescreen is good atm and will get better
-most new games
-windows 2000 or higher
-ati i dunno abt but nvidia 6200 or higher will do
compatibility really depends on the app you running
in the case it doesn't, depending on your lcd and settings, it'll put in the black bars or scale the pixels - the image quality with scaling is stil quite acceptable especially with the enthusiast/pro level lcds. value ones are ok but they could be better

hi.
lets suppose that my card does't support wide screen.
what will i see?
will be there black bars like the one from movies??
