Widi Windows 7

Hello,

I know this thread is about the discontinued product Widi but intel site highlights that it can still run on windows 7.

I found the widi compatibility tool and try to install it.
Then it showed me that my wireless card ( i bought an asus wireless pci express one ) and also my nvidia gtx 550 ti , neither supports widi.
( your wireless driver cannot find or load necessary components for intel widi
your graphics driver cannot find or load necessary components for intel widi )
I read on intel site that 2nd generation cpus can support widi under windows 7 but cant figure out what else to install or maybe buy to support widi...
Also this tool showed the above two but not clearly that my wireless and gpu cannot support it. I found that a clear message looks like this one
( Your wireless card is not compatible with intel widi
your wireless driver cannot find or load necessary components for intel widi
your video hardware is not compatible with intel widi
your graphics driver cannot find or load necessary components for intel widi )
Which says that neither wireless card or gpu supports widi not just can not load necessary componets.
Also windows 10 under 2nd generation cannot support either widi or miracast so i stick to windows 7 to find the solution..

This CPU also supports Widi - A socket 1150 CPU

I think besides this you need a dongle like a chromecast that plugs into an HDMI port to use it. To get the wireless display

Some Gigabyte wireless adapters also support WIDI

hmm yeah i know this option with dongles but intel says you can support widi with only this hardware. I have a smart tv so buying dongles is like paying extra 50 euros for enabling the wireless receiver on tv which it already has... Also i cant email them because they dont answer questions about discontinued products as the mention in every post xD. Does it have to do with a driver i need to install? And how do i know my gtx can support widi? Is there a list or something like the cpu generations which intel mentions?

Its not the videocard that supports it, it's the CPU and pci card

Well unless your CPU supports widi you cant do anything.

Unless you replace it with a CPU that does. And a PCI wifi/bt adapter that supports widi

You'll still need some kind of HDMI dongle to get a display on whatever
