I don't know if this has been posted before but I just got a wierd bug in my
ut2k4 game.

I just did a fresh install of windows xp on my pentium 4 2.4ghz. and after I
got sp1 and the criticals loaded I loaded up ut2k4 and when I play a movie
like the intros instead of playing like a movie I get dropped into it like
it was a map.

Not a big deal as everything else is working fine but kinda annoying though.

Has anyone else had this happen? If so is there a way to fix it without
having to reinstall?

TIA
Will

This isn't something I've experienced personally, or even heard of. How
strange! I can offer a possible solution, though. In a similar manner to
the original UT, you can replace that load-up map with a blank map (a
'dummy') and go straight to the menu screen. Load up your ut2004.ini
file and change the line:

LocalMap=nvidialogo.ut2

to, erm, I can't remember the name off-hand (and am mid re-install
myself so I haven't one to look at). Have a nosey in your maps
directory. I THINK it's one of a couple of maps WITHOUT a gametype
prefix (e.g. ONS-Torlan.ut2 or CTF-Maul.ut2 have those prefixes). it's
named something like blank.ut2. I'm sure someone else can tell you.
Anyhow, change the line above to the requisite map name and hopefully
you'll go straight to the menu (and not be dropped into a blank map).

Close - it's NoIntro.ut2

Just one caveat - if you play any of the larger mods (FragOps
for example) which create their own \ut2004\<modname>\maps
directory, you may need to copy NoIntro.ut2 to that map
directory as well.

Actually it wasn't the nvidia logo intro but the single player intros that
were dong it. Also Benchmark did it for some reason. Apparently it has
corrected itself though. It hasn't done it today.

Kinda cool though running around in the stadium from ut2k3 intro. only when
you step on the platform in the center you just fell through it.

Thanks for the replies though
