I have the similar (but it seems not exactly the same) problem to some that are already encountered here. My wifi adapter automatically turns off when not in use for a short time (say 10 minutes). After that the only way I found to turn it on is restarting the computer. Simply, I cannot turn it on by pressing the buton on the keyboard nor by using the software. My laptop is always on high performance, and 'turn off to save the power' is unchecked. (I believe this is coincidence, but recently I plugged in a new mouse Canyon CNS-CMSW6PU; it turns on automatically by a single click, and turns off also automatically). Network drivers are up to date. (Laptop is HP envy on Win 8.1; the adapter is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230)

?? everything I look at on that keep pointing to that fix I gave above ?? unless its just defective and something is causeing it to do so ?/

can you use the adaptor in another computer to see if it does the same on it ?? my usb adaptor disconnects a lot but it never just shuts down or off or disables itself ? I think at my providers and under my account theres a timer setting I can use to adjust how long at idle it will auto disconnect from the internet but as far as my device just stop working I not seen that ?
