I have a Asrock H310M ITX/ac motherboard. It comes with Intel 3168 wireless adapter onboard(Vertical M.2 with E key)
Thinking of upgrading to Intel® Wireless-AC 9260 which can support speeds upto 1.73Gbps.
Asrock website doesn't have much info as to whether it would support or not.
Both are of M.2 2230 form factor.
Wanted to know if I can go ahead and get the adapter & is it worth upgrading?

Solution
Are you in the same room as your WIFI router? What router do you have? What ISP speed do you have?
Are you even using 5Ghz to connect to your router?

You might see improved performance. WIFI is difficult to predict. You may go through all the trouble, which MIGHT include soldering and see no change.
I don't know how the card is in the metal enclosure and how the antenna connectors are secured. It may be non-trivial to replace.
