Hello,

I need some help here, please. I am in an office, the network admin has restricted access to certain categories of websites. Access to the company's network is via Ethernet câble, hooked to the company's laptop.

While at the office I need to keep an eye on my private activities, especially Forex. I have my private laptop with me but juggling from one computer to another, it's not easy.

So here's what I want to do: use a browser on the wired network, and another on Wifi. The Wifi will be my mobile hotspot

Is it possible ? If not, what solution can I adopt to direct a specific part of the traffic to the LAN, and another part to WIFI?
I am on Windows 10.

Thank you!

You are trying to get around restrictions that are put in place for a reason, if your private activities are that important perhaps look after them instead of going to work? You have a mobile telephone so why not "keep an eye" using that?

If they are smart they will have rigged it so you can not accomplish what you want. What you want to do actually put the company network more at risk than if they just allowed sites you want.

If you were to connect this now it is YOUR skills at IT that would protect the network from a outside attack. Since you do not even know basic stuff like how to hook the second connection up I doubt you have the abilities to properly protect both your company machine and other machines connected to the company network.

If the company allows you to have a private laptop that you can connect to your cell phone that is your best option. Many companies have policies against private equipment in the building because people bring in machines that are infected and then attempt to connect them to the company network.

What you're actually asking is....

"I need some help here, please. What is a fast way to lose my job?"

Any network admin worth his salt can detect what you did, on their equipment. Or block it completely. And forward that up the chain.
The fact that they restrict what sites you can access....they do that for a reason.

While you're "at the office", you should be doing the stuff they pay you to do, not your personal trading.

In any case, we're not going to help you get around your network restrictions.
Just use your laptop.

Closing this.
