Hi all

My phone and tablet won't connect to my WiFi at home. I bought both of these in a different country - phones from this region seem to connect to the wifi no problem. Mine just says "Saved, Secured" but never actually connects. Would different countries have different security levels or something? Are there any settings you could advise changing? Both are samsung / android devices

Thanks in advance for any advice

802.11 is the international standard for wi-fi, so unless the region you bought from doesn't follow it or uses one of the other wireless standards, which are both unlikely, I would look at the AP end as well to determine what's going on.

There are certain radio frequencies that are not allowed. For example you can not use channels 12 and 13 on the 2.4g band in the USA but you can most other places in the world. Devices meant for the japan market tend to be the tougher ones since the 5g band frequencies allowed are very different than most the rest of the world.

The most common issue would be if you set your router to use channel 12 or 13 and then used a device that only supports channels 1-11 it would refuse to connect.
