Hi all,

I use Bluetooth keyboard and sound bar for my desktop computer. Recently I found disconnecting and ghost typing issues with my keyboard. So I replaced the USB dongle (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009ZIILLI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) with a PCI-e adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P61CK87/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

I installed the adapter today and found WiFi works fine (which I don't need...) but I cannot get the Bluetooth adapter working. It has a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager (see attached screen shot).

What have I tried:
  • Installed the driver from asus.com.
  • Installed the driver through Windows 10.
  • Uninstalled the driver from asus.com and re-install the driver through Windows 10.
  • Uninstall the device and re-scan, re-installed the device.
No luck...

If I unplug the USB dongle, the Bluetooth config page shows no Bluetooth.

Please help!

BT not working on that model and the 55 is fairly common based on various forums. Seems there’s a driver compatibility issue with Windows. One thread had the below link to an older driver (Dec 2019) that worked for several people.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29264?v=t

The “valid for” list at the bottom doesn’t list the 55 or 58 but reports are that it works for both, in a lot of cases but not all.

I wonder what is causing the sporadic connection issue between the USB BT adapter and my keyboard. It is definitely not a keyboard issue since I use it with my working laptop with no problem.
