Wifi card 2.4Ghz but network is 5gHz

Hi Guys,

I have just installed the wifi card into my new pc, and it is 2.4Ghz. However, my 5ghz network isn't showing up because of this I think. I there anything I can do, or do I have to get a new Wifi Card

The only thing you can do aside from getting a new wifi card is checking to see if your router has a 2.4 ghz band that is not enabled. It is rare to find a purely 5ghz router.

The thing is that I live in a motel so we have 2 seperate networks coming out of the same router if that makes sense. One is a 2.4ghz one that is really slow which the guests use, and the other, which i have been using on my macbook, is a 5ghz fibre one which is fast. Is it possible that the 5Ghz network could be so that anyone could connect with a 5ghz device, and STILL get 5ghz, and people could also connect with 2.4ghz devices and recieve a 2.4ghz frequency. Unfortunately not. 5ghz and 2.4 are not cross compatible the way that you want. If the 2.4 is too slow I would recommend getting a new wifi card.
