Wifi expansion card good for gaming?

Hello, this is the first pc gaming rig im building and wanted to know if getting a wifi expansion card is good enough for gaming. I have a Ps4 right next to the spot where my PC will be located and never had a problem with the wifi on my console. Will this Wifi Card be good for gaming on my PC without constant connection drops and low speed?. I can't spend any more.

For gaming it's always best to have a direct link (hard wired)
These are the next best thing, plug directly into the wall not a surge protector.

Can you please explain me how this work? I'm I supposed to have a wire from the router connected to this things and then to the PC? Because that is really not an option for me. I'm happy if a wireless PC card works as good as a ps4 Wi-Fi connection.
