Question WiFi extender vs. Mesh?

I am confused and need advice. We have xFinity wiFi using their modem/router. If I am in the room with it, I get over 200 mbps. However, in my office I only get about 8 mbps. I want to do something to improve the speed there. Moving the router is not an option. Which device would work best for my situation - an extender like a TP-Link AC750 WiFi Extender or a mesh system like the Amazon Eero? Why is one better than the other. Thanks!

Ha! I did not know this was the same forum. I do not know how to check which bands the router is using. I looked at Xfinity online and can see most details about it but whether it is on 2.4 or the other band is hidden information. It says my router is set to automatically use the best band. I was hoping someone could tell me what to do like I am 5 years old

Click on Start, then Settings, then Network & Internet, then Properties (under your connected network).

Scroll down. Info should be right in front of you.
