[SOLVED] Wifi icon

The wifi icon on my laptop is stuck on a red X while i have internet

it shows that red X

its nothing serious but its driving me crazy
btw i stole that photo from the internet

If it is bothering you simply click on the little up arrow a bit to the left of it and select customize. Then for the network notification select hide icon and notifications.

You will have to go into that arrow to connect to wireless networks in new locations though.

Are you using a Ethernet cable or wifi? The icon you are showing usually indicates the Ethernet cable is not plugged in. To remove the icon go to taskbar settings-> Select which icons appear in the taskbar-> move the Network slider to Off. Another fix that might work, if you want to keep the wifi icon on the taskbar, would be to leave the disable the Ethernet driver in the Device Manager, while the network slider remains in the on position.
