Hello. I'm on Kali Linux OS, I have a problem gaining Internet access with my home wifi specifically, status: connected, but no Internet access whatsoever, can't ping www.google.com or 8.8.8.8 .
I think it's worth mentioning that during Kali installation it had hard time configuring network -it was an error like iwlwifi-3160-17.ucode can't be found. Do you want to load from removable media? I tried that, didn't work. - and it said 'it may not work properly'. But I can connect to my phone Hotspot and it works fine.
Suggestions?

First step is to understand the meaning of the error message.

Not really sure about how far along you actually are with respect to troubleshooting....

However if you google "iwlwifi-3160-17.ucode cannot be found" more information is available.

I found a variety of related links such as the following:

Look for additional links that are more relevant or specific to your configuration and setup.
