Any more than 3 chrome tabs, boom! No WiFi... Just a single download would do the same after a couple of minutes. Been like this for ages, now I really wanted to get Alien: Isolation but WiFi doesn't work. Any help appreciated!

Solution
Update your post to include full system hardware specs.

Are you using a USB wireless adapter? Make and model?

Use Task Manager and Resource Monitor (just one at a time) to observe system performance.

Watch for awhile without opening any chrome tabs. Then, leaving the window open, start opening chrome tabs one at a time allowing a few minutes between each opening. Look for some change in performance as the number of tabs increases.

You can also look in Reliability History for error codes and warnings that occur just before or at the time WiFi is lost.
