My wireless network adapter is the Intel Dual-Band Wireless AC-3160. The problem is when I use an internet browser (tried a few different ones with no difference) it will stay trying to load the page but most of the time it doesn't, sometimes it t loads half the page. Games aren't able to access internet either.

I know it's not the connection itself because it works perfectly if I use an Ethernet wire, and it works fine on my other laptop and phone using Wi-Fi and the same router.

I tried several things: disabling and re-enabling the adapter in device manager, disabling bluetooth which seemed to help but only momentarily, disabling Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter which also helped only momentarily, checked drivers and they are up to date, used the troubleshooting feature. Nothing fixed the problem.

It's a brand new laptop.

MODEL: HP ENVY Notebook - 17t-n000 CTO (Touch) (ENERGY STAR)

GPU: GTX 950M

OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit

I discovered something. While I was downloading a song I noticed that if I have the Ethernet cable plugged in the download speed was +600kbps, but whenever I unplugged the cable and the laptop switched to WiFi, the speed went down to 20kbps, which explains why browsing the internet is so slow in WiFi and sometimes pages don't load. Every time I plug in the Ethernet cable, the speed goes the way it is on my other laptop using WiFi, if I switch to WiFi with this one the speed goes down. I have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it, I'm pretty much forced to keep it plugged in.

I'm having the same problem. All my other devices work fine over the wifi, but my pc is painfully slow even though it's connected to the same router. Don't think it's a problem with my wifi adapter as back at home (at uni now) it connected to the wifi with no problems.
