Hello, I recently bought a used Intel 9462NGW card for my laptop, because the original Qualcomm QCNFA344A had an error code in task manager, and the wifi was not functioning on my laptop. I installed the new part, but my machine didn't recognise it at all. In task manager the Intel network driver is not listed, like it is even not inserted into the laptop. I installed all the drivers I could find but still nothing. I don't know if I bought a faulty part, or the laptop has some other issue witch is the causer of the other wifi card error.
Now I have Windows 11 installed, but I don't think that would cause any incompatibility.

Thanks in advance! :)

While you were on the Qualcomm adapter, did you try and see if your laptop was pending any BIOS updates? In the past Dell and H{ had an issue with aftermarket parts or even non SKU parts since they had a white list in their BIOS. I'm referring to a decade ago and I can't say if the issue is persistent.

Use CPU-Z to show you what your current BIOS version is and then use your Service Tag to bring a support page befitting your laptop to see if you have BIOS updates pending. Side note, where did you source the installer for your OS?

When I had the Qualcomm adapter in my laptop, I installed every newest driver and BIOS, but neither of them solved it.

I installed every latest driver from Dell and Intel too. I have the latest BIOS version, according to the version number, but the release date was 12/2021 in CPU-Z and on Dell's page there was one with 02/2022 release date. I installed that too, but I still have the same problem.
I simply updated my Win 10 to 11 in Windows Update.

Did you install Intel's latest Chipset Drivers and Serial IO drivers?

Yes, I installed every available driver.

This from Dell's support page (Drivers & Downloads) may be relevant to your problem:

"Dell does not support Windows 11 on your device"

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/vostro-14-5471-laptop/drivers

Well, this is very interesting. I updated the op. system because Win 10 said that my device is compatible with version 11.

Now I put back my old Qualcomm adapter to the laptop, task manager can recognise it, but it is jumping between "ok" and "alert icon" status. WiFi still doesn't work.
I guess I am going to order the exact Qualcomm adapter from ebay and see it would work.
