Okay so this is a weird situation I'm in. So a friend came over to help set up his new laptop/download some games and i unplugged the ethernet cable from the router and plugged in the ethernet cable into his laptop to download everything faster which worked fine. The trouble came after i unplugged the ethernet cable and plugged it back into my router. All my devices connected to the router but had no internet connection. The only device with internet connection over wifi was the laptop. I plugged the ethernet cable into my own laptop and that didnt work either( at least until I troubleshooted that and even then only my laptop has wifi now).
TLDR: Only a laptop has internet access through wifi even though other devices are connected to the wifi.

Solution
Power down the cable modem, router, and all connected devices.

Then, in this order (assuming the cable modem and router are physically connected properly)...

1. Power on the cable modem. What until all indicator lights are on.
2. Power on the router. It will get address from ISP via cable modem and initialize itself for use.
3. After router is fully up, start powering on devices and reconnecting to network.

When you disconnected the router, it lost its mind, so to speak because its network settings changed.
