When im gaming or even browsing the net, my ping is really bad. (with the game i can get spikes to over 500!!) I dont know what is causing it, i have a strong connection, not even a meter from router, and everything seems normal, i tried to see if it was my laptop doing some funky <Mod Edit>, but it isnt. I dont think it can be someone else, im writing this at 3:20 AM and its still terrible. Any ideas?

You have almost no options with wifi. You try other radio band 2.4/5 or you try other radio channels.

You should try ethernet to be sure the problem is wifi.

Wifi unlike almost any other network technology retransmits damaged data. This takes time and causes delays, ie ping spikes. The damaged data is almost always due to some form of interference. For most people it is the neighbors wifi but it can be anything from cordless phones to cameras or baby monitors.

Signal level is only part of the equation. Signal quality is actually more important. A very weak signal will work very well if the quality is good.

This is like saying I have my tv cranked up really loud but so does my neighbor. So you might have lots of...

If other devices work well you might suspect a defective wifi device.

Without extremely expensive equipment that lets you see radio waves you have very few options when it comes to fixing wifi.

I dont have the option of an ethernet cable, my laptop has no ethernet ports, just 2usba and 2 usbc ports. As for past performance, yes it used to work fine, until like a few weeks ago i think; i was able to game with barely any ping let alone spikes.
