so my computer has a problem where the internet connection in this specific pc is just unstable and <Mod Edit>, like seriously <Mod Edit> bad, I play quite a few games like csgo, and ever since this problem i tend to have alot of lag spikes or constant lag changing from 200 to 1000 ping, my game also tends to lag freeze and disconnects me. Now i thought this was a problem from my ISP but everything else seem to work fine with the internet with barely any lag such as my Iphone 7 and my brothers MSI, This problem occured around a week ago and has not got any better.

also i tend to check task manager and in performance there is WI-FI, i tend to see its also very unstable in the graphs. sometimes the send would not have a kbps but the recieve would and vise versa,

could the problem be because of my NIC in my pc? because the NIC is old anyways

Wifi is too unpredictable even when it is working perfectly. It generally works fine for all application except online games. This is why you should never play games on any form of wifi.

Your best option if you are considering spending money is to get the wifi out of the connection. Best of course is ethernet but not a option for many people. If you tv coax near your router and in your room you can use MoCA devices. You can also consider powerline networks, you want to use the newer Av2-1000 and av2-2000 units for best results.

Your problem with the wifi could be the nic but it also could be you happen to be closer to a source of wifi interference like your neighbors wifi than other machines. In any case the best nic...

Your problem with the wifi could be the nic but it also could be you happen to be closer to a source of wifi interference like your neighbors wifi than other machines. In any case the best nic cards tend to be internal pci cards that have short antenna cables that let you place the antenna on top of the machine. A large part of the performance issues in wifi in desktops is the case blocking the signal when the antenna are placed in the back and near the case.
