Wifi Problems

Hello,
On my laptop ( window vista ) i can connect to a network but the network will not bridge with the internet. so i cannot connect to the internet without using an ethernet cable pleast help

If you click on Network and Sharing Center then click on the red X that appears between your router and the globe icon - does it say anything from that diagnose?
