So my parents just recently got a new router and modem, both are netgear routers. Our old router and modem would sometimes drop but because they were more than 10 years old. I don't know the exact model of my netgear router or modem, but I know they haven't been out more than a few years. I just got them about 6 months ago. Before they would never drop at all, probably because I hardly used the WiFi. Now, I use the WiFi to play CS:GO and it is constantly dropping and is annoying me to death. I have gotten a week ban because of my 'amazing' wifi so for the time I have to wait, I'd like to find out why it drops so frequently. Anyone know how to fix it?

Solution
Maybe there are too much access point near you. Often, dropping wi-fi networks, are due to channel interferences between neighbors APs and your.
You should check it through a wireless software survey (such as WiFi Analyzer from android market) and find a suitable channel to statically configure on your access point.

Thanks, hopefully it works because I am tired of this happening constantly. Do you have any suggestions for WiFi analyzers because I have no idea where to start.
