Hi
I have a netgear R6300 router and am very impressed with it. the problem is that it is in one corner of the house and our bedroom upstairs on the opposite side doesn't get much signal. I still want to use ipad, roku, laptop...in my bedroom. An important piece of info here is that the house has network port in each room, which I connect to either the cable modem or the R6300 delivering a really good signal directly in the room. Since I want still to use wireless in my room, there's 2 solutions:
1- wifi range extender somewhere between r6300 and my room
2- wifi emitter plugged into the cable port directly in my room

solution 1, while using only wifi, will not deliver a signal as good as solution 2
solution 2: what type fo device shall I use? wireless router? bridge? other? in this case:
a- will there be confict with the r6300 signal when I move from the room downstairs or is it the same signal (that would be best)
b- can I get a device with the same 802.11 ac capability than r6300? it is a simple device, I just need to broadcast wifi signal in the room, that's it.

Can someone help me criticize the choices and help me make the best technical/economic decision?
thanks

OL

Since you have a network port in the room, just connect another router and it should work for creating another wifi SSID in that room. A range extender does the same thing but you don't need it because of the network port in wall. Any basic N150 or N300 router would be fine since your internet speed won't go over 54 Mbps anyway.
