I recently bought a Dlink DWR-116 router to create a repeater setup as the range provided by my Netgear couldn't cover the ground floor.
So here is the setup i've made
ISP modem->Main Router (Netgear) -> Repeater(Dlink) .
My problem is that i was able to find the repeater settings on the Netgear router but i'm unable to understand how to setup the repeater functionality on the Dlink .
I tried setting up a static IP for the Dlink router and added the gateway as the Netgear's IP. I also tried to give the Dlink router the same SSID as that of the Netgear(but that went totally out of control 😉 )
Yet the WIFI feature does not work from Dlink.
I'm unable to find out what might have gone wrong.
Can anyone please help?
Note: I do not want to connect a Ethernet cable between Netgear and Dlink to achieve this repeater functionality .
