Not sure if this or android page is best to post this. 2 parts to this. Just got ATT fiber 300 Mbps installed. On hardwired devices, speeds are what they should be, right at 300 or a little higher. On my android phone, speeds are anywhere from 30Mbps to 80. Not sure of the wifi capability on android phone. Should I be able to get 300 or close to it?

On a laptop connected to wifi in the house, I get a speed of around 250 DL and 80 UL. Now we have a 2nd building that also gets internet from house, hardwired connected to a 2nd router. In that 2nd building, the same laptop on wifi shows speed of around 300 for both DL and UL.

Now at the time of posting this, its only been hooked up for a few hours and the guy that hooked it up said it could get better as time goes by. So maybe I just need to give it more time.

WIFI is unpredictable. A neighbor's WIFI on the same channel can interfere. If your wired speeds are what you pay for, that is all you should expect, IMO.

Your hardwire results determine the top speed (hardware specific.)
Test results for your phone should be done on the 5G band in close range to the wireless router.) Try it through both routers.
The only difference in your system is the 2 routers. If they are the same models you should get near same results, but I don’t know what the common point tie in is for the router in the other building.
