I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series (4th gen i3). I was hoping a rare model where you can upgrade the CPU but no luck.

It has an AR9565 WiFi card in it, which I didn't know could be upgraded. I guess they call it a half-size mini PCIe? Always assumed proprietary.

Anyways, looked at a 9260ngw and seems like a bit of an upgrade. Figured I'd check here first to see if maybe something better? if maybe some brands are better than others? or not worth it.

Laptop was given to me, I maxed it to 8GB ram and a 250GB SSD with Win10. It's gonna be a shop computer for sending code to my small CNC and 3D Printer, and probably YouTube and streaming movies with KODI. Literally mint condition, was almost never used and has a nice sized screen so, should work fine for me. That said, it's in the cellar. Router is on the next floor and 30ft away but, if this helps with the signal strength and speed, for $20CAD it may be worth it (?).

Debated that... have one with an antennae which is ideal, but as old (older) than the laptop. Plus in a work shop and moving it around, I'd rather not have something sticking out that can catch and get ripped out or knock the laptop outta my hands. Shame it doesn't have the threaded jack for antennae on the back.
