Hello. I have an Asus ROG G551JM laptop, running Windows 10. Since a few days ago, I noticed it's always connected on WiFi, even if I have the ethernet cable connected. I started investigating and I noticed the Ethernet adapter does not appear in the Device Manager, and in Network Connections there is only the Wi-Fi connection. No ethernet. I have thought about reinstalling the drivers, but the problem is, on the official Asus website, for my model, there is no LAN driver for Windows 10. There is one for Windows 8.1, but not for 10.
What could I do to fix this?

Solution
also try reinstalling the chipset drivers for the system board. if it damaged some of the devices may not show up. alos check your mb user guild some devices can be turned off with the function keys.

Hello, and thank you for you for your reply.
I have tried installing the driver you suggested, but it still doesn't work.
I have tried the Windows Troubleshooter, selected I'm having a different problem > Use a specific network adapter, and there is no Ethernet adapter there. I can only select the WiFi adapter, the Bluetooth adapter or All adapters.
If you have any other suggestion, I am ready to test them.

I finally got home and I managed to fix it.
I had to download and reinstall the latest BIOS driver from the ASUS website. It took about 2 minutes, and now I finally have LAN again.
Thanks, everyone, for your help.
