Hello, I am planning on putting a Wii console into a briefcase and have a computer monitor ready. But it only has VGA input and the Wii is RCA (Red, White, Yellow). Has anybody got any ideas what to use?
You just run the yellow, video, cable to the vga adapter and then into the monitor. Then, the red and white, sound, cable to the audio jack adapter and that into the speakers

I think that puts the yellow cable on the output section not the input, and visa versa for the VGA. Because of this, it won't work.
I’m kind of an expert on that subject. The composite to VGA converter previously recommended is garbage. You want to get a Mayflash Wii + PS3 to VGA cable. They can be bought on Ebay, Amazon and similar sites for 15-20€/$. You also absolutely need to set your video output in the Wii settings to 480p, or else the VGA monitor will not be able to read the signal. Hook the Wii up to an old CRT with the composite cables, set it to 480p (image should become black). Next, exchange the cables with the Mayflash cables and connect them to your monitor.
Note that VGA is a legacy signal that looks only good on CRT monitors. However, if you have a good one, the picture is better than all modern LCDs, lag and color wise.
LCDs connected through VGA have problems digitalizing the signal and might show vertical lines or other artifacts.
I've run into the same issue and can't seem to get it to work.
@spectrum123: were you able to get it to work?
Thanks
Sorry for a late reply. I didn't get the project to work, however looking rather foolish, I have found a Wii to VGA cable! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wii-PS3-VGA-HDTV-Cable/dp/B0015MISAG
If you look elsewhere for similar items, you may get it cheaper.
