Question Will 16gb ram + 8gb ram work together?

So i have8 GB DDR4-2133 memory and planning to buy another one. will 16gb will work or should i get another 8gb.

mother board:
MSI H110M Gaming Micro ATX LGA1151

GPU: MSI Geforce gtx 1060 3gb OC edition

Unknown. Mix-and-match RAM is a gamble. The safe thing to do is buy a matched set of two 8GB DIMMs and sell or give away the single 8GB DIMM.

AFAIK most RAMs will run but only at the stock default or at the lower rated speed, i.e. if one stick is 2133 and the other is 3000, they will run at 2133 mhz, its called intel FLEX mode , so you will get 8+8 GB in dual channel mode and the extra 8 GB will work in single channel mode. if it was me, id just get another 8GB stick (same speed, make & model). IDK if your board will support this though.
