[SOLVED] Will 1x 32gb stick work?

Hey all,

Looking to find out if 1x 32gb ram stick will work in my Asus H310M-K motherboard rather than 2x16?

Following some diagnostics I’ve found that I only have 1 working Ram slot and I’m looking to upgrade.

While the board supports up to 32GB memory, the QVL doesn't show anything bigger than 16GB sticks used. I don't know for sure, but I suspect the slot will only see 16GB.
Why would you want to use single channel over dual channel?

Yes it should work, but not aswell as 2x16 sticks in dual channel. I would recommend getting a new board which would be half the price of the RAM.

Hey, thanks for your reply.
One of my slots is not recognising the second stick, so unless I can fix that issue (so far with no success despite cleaning and loosening the screws around it) I am limited to 1 stick or buying a new mo’board.

Is the stick or the slot in the Mobo not working and what did you clean "it" with? If the slot is dead I would get a new board first, no matter how good or big the ram is it is only going to function at a reduced level with only 1 slot. A waste of money, 2 sticks of 8gb dual channel will give better results than 32gb in 1 every day.

So, are you now what are you using in the single slot? 8GB stick?
I presume you've tested both sticks in the "working" slot?
