Guys I have a 600 va ups and 550w smps
Now I,have a battery of 12v 7.2 ah and it gives absoulute zero backup time
So im thinking of connecting 2 x12v 12ah batteries to the ups. Paralellya
So will it increae the Backup time
Will the ups even work with with this arrangement
Thanks in advance

Solution
Does your 7.2 AH battery provide any backup time at all and has it ever done so when it was new ?
If the 7.2AH battery has never provided any backup time and if your PC is actually drawing 450W and you have other things plugged into your UPS then you are overloading the UPS and it will shut down and not provide backup regardless of how big the battery capacity is.
A 600VA UPS depending on the actual power factor will supply about 420W.
If it doesn' give any back up time at all then probably the battery is dead. First replace the battery and see if that solves it. If it never gave any backup time at all though then you may have a PSU that is incompatible with the UPS (Read up on stepped vs pure since waves to find out why).

What are the specs of your PC and the UPS?

Hi
If you are not getting any backup time then its as Chayan4400 states.
Or you may be overloading the UPS, 600VA would equate to about 420W so if your PC is a very power hungry one and if all the other devices plugged in to the UPS exceed this the UPS would shut down to protect itself .
Now lets try some quick estimation.
If the actual power draw on the battery is 480W ( actual load plus inefficency) then the battery is providing 40A which using a 7.2AH battery would provide nearly 11 minutes of backup time in theory but the UPS will shut down before totally flat so an estimation would be about 8 minutes.
So 24AH would provide an ideal 36 minutes and more realistically 25 to 30 minutes of backup.
So yes it would improve the backup time and the UPS would work if it is done correctly.
The main thing to be aware of is that the wire you use to connect the batteries must be able to carry 40A at 12V DC and that due to the heavy current there is a risk of fire if done incorrectly.

So how do I do it makkem
Pls suggest the appropriate method to do so
Will the 24ah battery hold my 550w system

Should I go fo a single 26ah battery or 2 12ah batteries connected in parallel
Which would be better (all the batteris are 12v)
Will the new batteries make a difference bcuz the ups is still 600va (idont know what it means)

A single battery would be easier than two.
You need to find out the total power of the equipment that is plugged into the UPS.
Most PCs take between 200W and 300W so you should try and keep the other connected equipment below 120W.
The UPS is designed for use with the original battery so if the load is high and you fit a higher capacity battery then the UPS may shut down thermally before the battery runs out.
I am reluctant to provide step by step instructions due to liability issues,I will say that if you don't know how to do it then you probably shouldn't and just replace the existing battery with a battery of the same size.

According outversion psu calculator my pc uses 450w of energy
So replacing the existing 12v 7.2ah battery would be of no use
So pls anyone suggest methods to do the bigger battery thing
Pls guys anyone

PSU calculators generally overestimate the power and are used to determine the size of PSU required and not the actual power used,I would be surprised if your PC actually used any where near that power.
The safest thing to do would be to get a higher capacity battery that has that same physical size and the same connectors as the one you have so that it would be a direct swap.
Try measuring your battery then get the largest capacity battery you can with the same measurements so that it will fit inside your UPS.

It actually needs that much power
Amd fx8320
Gtx 650ti
And all other gaming stuffs
So u should go for the bigger battery rathr than 2 batteries

How much amp will a 26ah produce and.how.much backup time will it give for a 550w.system
Is there any problem using a 26ah battery ina 600va ups
Is there any power limitation for normal ups
