As the question states, I'm currently looking at a very cheap deal for 2133Mhz DDR3 Kingston Hyper-X 2x4GB. Problem is, that my motherboard (MSI 760GM-P21(FX) only supports up to 1333Mhz. Looking this up on google and toms, i've found people asking if the motherboard would for instance be able to run the RAM. My question is, I don't care about speed, would the RAM be able to work in the motherboard AT ALL (so ideally make it run at 1333), since this RAM is about half the price of the equivalent 1333Mhz sticks.

So thats the question, will 2133Mhz RAM be able to WORK in a board that only goes up to 1333 (Can I make 2133Mhz RAM be 1333?)?

Thank you :)

Solution
Yes. The bios will set the frequency to 1333 automatically. What worry me a little bit, is that you get 2133Mhz cheaper then 1333Mhz. Make sure, it is not a rip-off

It matters not now anyway as I just got confirmation that they're out of stock and that new stock will also have an increased price. But thank you for the answer, at least now i know :)
