I am kind of on a tight budget and seeing the 1600X says 2667MHz on the website im wondering if i can buy 2400 mhz and it could still work.
Or i guess i can accept it and buy 2666MHz RAM because i cannot find 2667 ANYWHERE.

Solution
What page are you looking at? I've a 1600x. A B350 mobo. I've researched extensively on these things. For Ryzen 2.0 (2600x) the defaults speeds are 2400/2666. Defo not for Ryzen 1600x. With that said, and as long as the mobo supports it, Ryzen 1600x will work with any DIMMS that are from 2133-3200mhz, typically. But it's more down to motherboard support than CPU as to whether the ram works or not.
It will work just fine as long as it's on the QVL for whatever mobo you have.

I have generic Corsair 2400mhz 2x8gbs in my system. Luckily, and having a bit of experience, I've been able to OC mine to 2733mhz.

The default speed for Ryzen 1.0 is 2133/2400 so having 2400mhz ram won't degrade your experience. It's just that faster ram, up to 2933mhz in a Ryzen system, does have the benefit of 'extra' performance which can be huge gains in some scenarios (gaming). But having 2400mhz ram your system will still be snappy responsive and fully functional.

Even if the page for the 1600X says 2667Mhz?

Im looking at the official AMD site for the 1600X.

So for 4 DIMMS slots filled it's 2400 default support. For 2 DIMMS slots filled (with single rank DIMMS only) the default is 2666.

Running 2 DIMMS at 2400mhz will NOT decrease performance. Like i said above, faster ram DOES have an effect, and increase in performance in certain situations. Getting 2400mhz DIMMS is just fine. The preference being to get DIMMS up to 3000mhz, but like you said, price/cost is key.

edit: Here's an example. Lets say your playing game A with 2400mhz. You might hit 80fps at whatever settings. If you have 3000mhz DIMMS, you may get 85fps, not so much a difference, and one that you wouldn't be able to see anyway. Do you see what I mean now?

Im so fucking confused. lol. Ik im dumb. Im not rly looking for the performance rn. I just want to know will the Ryzen 5 1600X work with dual channel 2400mhz ram? lol

Yes, i've said that twice. It will work just fine. Just make sure to select a set of DIMMS on that list that I linked. Then you will be sure they will work. Your good to go.
