Will 2x4GB of Consair Vengence RAM 1600MHz work on my current motherboard? Are there any steps I would have to use to get it to work? Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Model: CM1855 Rev: 1.xx Chipset: RD9x0 Rev: 02 Southbridge: SB910/950 Rev: 40 LPCIO: ITE IT8721? This is according to CPU-Z.

Also, will it work with the RAM that was originally installed in the system (ASint Technology) 2 x 4GB (Is currently 2x4 GB and 1x2 Gb of the same brand RAM)? Thanks in advance for an answer.

Solution
That unit came with 1866mhz modules globally. US models came with 1600mhz modules. Adding different memory may, or may not, work with the modules that are installed. That 1600mhz memory SHOULD work by itself, but if used with the existing modules it might not play nice or if it does, the 1866mhz modules will be downclocked to match the 1600mhz speed. If your model has 1600mhz modules, the probability of them working is still the same since they're not matched with the existing modules and have not been tested to be compatible. All you can do is try them.
